The result of this study can be used as material for learning Indonesian in high school. All phsychology need have been fulfilled from the most basic needs to the highest need, namely phsycologycal needs, security need, need for love and belonging, self-esteem need, and self actualization need. From the data analysis, it can be concluded that the main character (abah) as the head of the family has the nature of responbility, not easly discouraged, hard working, merciful, forgiving, gentle, patient, and firm. The aim of the research to describe the characterization abah, psychology of abah, and relation with Indonesia language learning in high school. This film is adaptation of famous TV series at 90th. As for the children, the role of a daughter is related with helping the parents in domestic field.Keluarga Cemara movie’s is family drama produced by Visinema Pictures. The result of this research showed that the representation of a woman gender role especially a mother was related to domestic area and having a dominant role in raising children, it differed with man especially father that was potrayed having a role as the head of family and breadwinner. This research used purposive sampling technique sampling with documentation as the technique of collecting data.
This film was the remake of a drama with the sae title that released in 1996. The film used in this research entitled “Keluarga Cemara” was released in beginning of 2019. This research aimed to know how the gender role was potrayed in Indonesian family film using a research method that was qualitative analysis. A film is most likely based on social relity happened in the society, one of them is about gender role. Film as one of mass media is assumed to have an essential role in indoctrinate the gender role construction. The representation of gender role has been shown in any kinds of films including Indonesian family film.
